The Russian cemetery of St. Geneviev de Bois is located in the Paris suburb of the same name. Many Russian emigrants are buried here, and here are the names of only some of them: Ivan Bunin, Nadezhda Taffi, Alexander Galich, Rudolf Nuriev, Andrei Tarkovsky. This quiet and secluded place was the last shelter for many figures of Russian culture and not only.
The first burials of Russian emigrants appeared here in 1926. The cemetery is now considered predominantly Orthodox. Here is also the Church of the Assumption of the Mother of God, designed by Alexanda Benoit.
